Welcome to the Wanderlust-Renewed wiki!

Big things new players should know

  • Wooden and stone tools do not exist. You must first collect flint, knap the flint, and then make flint tools.
  • Many mobs will not spawn in a new world. Performing certain tasks, such as going to the nether, allows those mobs to spawn.
  • The Tinker's Construct Smeltery will not process ores directly; you must first process ores into ingots before melting them in the smeltery.
  • Villages have several custom structures. Our intent is to add enough custom structures to villages that you'll rarely find a vanilla structure.
  • Old, familiar Rogue-Like Dungeons aren't so familiar. They'll also be one of the few ways to jump forward in tech progression, if you're willing to brave the lower floors.
  • Ore generation in the overworld will be a combination of large branching veins, huge clouds (with hint veins on the surface), and small clusters. Different ores will spawn differently; not all ores have all types of generation. All types of ore will spawn anywhere, but certain ores are much more common in certain biomes (IE, uranium is more common in DEAD biomes).
  • Ore generation in the Nether is often set to replace air. You'll find floating geodes in the larger caves in the Nether. Be careful, these geodes are often filled with dangerous fluids. Nether ores do not double, but they are often incredibly easy to find.

Tech advancement

  • Dig up flint (you can get flint from dirt and sand as well as gravel; gravel is just the best way to get it)
  • Hitting flint against stone or another hard surface to make primitive flint tools
  • Break grass to collect plant fibers
  • Turn plant fibers (or leather), sticks (or bones), and flint into a primitive flint hatchet
  • With a hatchet, chop down trees to make a crafting table

Some Other Useful Notes

  • You can get plant fiber from breaking grass, but once you get a work blade, you can more easily get plant fiber from saplings; saplings can also be turned into sticks using an axe or hatchet
  • Another great source of plant fiber is the Nether
  • While the crafting cost of many things has been increased, the volume of materials needed for many other things has been reduced
    • For example, it takes 10 resonating ore to make a resonating crystal instead of 30 for Deep Resonance; in addition, the crystal produced will generally last 10 times longer
    • Other things have been buffed as well: lunch boxes from Spice of Life can hold full stacks of food instead of just 2 of each food item
