Development

Anouncement

  • Progress has been done on the reading of the Near Field ASDMS, however we still aren’t able to use it.
  • Updated development plan with links and improved text.

Creation of separated Dev and Main branches

  • Pull requests are made to Dev.
  • Before release we merge Dev Onto main.
  • Releases always come from Main.

Josh H.

Done:

  • Minor bug fixes in the logger and auror code.

on going:

  • Default gridding size.
  • Logger development.
  • Work on the client.

Todo:

  • Auror and Skriba to graph VIPER.

Victor

Done:

  • holog.zarr -> uvhol:
    • From this we discovered that the problem is somewhere in extract_holog (Pedro gets apertures that are basically the same as in astrohack).
  • Investigation of UVHOL:
    • Main difference appears to be a time smoothing of the visibilities.
  • Tests to try to identify the problems in extract_holog:
    • Use of time centroid of the visibilities rather than initial time.
    • Use of “ideal” directional cosines.
    • Use of polynomial fitting on the pointing (spline).
    • Time smoothing of the visibilities.
    • Time smoothing of the pointing.
  • Bugs identified:
    • Usage of SYSTEM_CONFIGURATION scans (pointed by Ryan Berthold, Fixed).
    • Dropping of Antennas would effectively only dropped the last antennas (Fixed).
    • Cell_size and Grid_size input parameter types (fixed, by JH).
    • Automatic determination of grid_size and cell_size fails when SYSTEM_CONFIGURATION scans are dropped (ongoing for JH).

On going:

  • ALMA far field calibration:
    • Currently on hold due to the OTF problems.
  • Tests to try to identify the problems in extract_holog:
    • Find a way to exclude the L and M excursions to zero.
      • If this works find a generic way to do so.

Todo:

  • A release with latest developments before leaving for the holidays.

Validation

Pedro

  • Last dataset on X and Ku bands look promissing (Early January 2024).
  • No New data during the configuration change due to weather.

Locit demo date

  • Mid march at the earliest.

Next Meeting

  • VSM can not attend on February 5th or 12th, February 19th is presidents day.
  • Meeting in February will depend on the progress on solving the OTF issue.
