Call for Talks

Hi,

I am Elvis, founder and organizer here at DAIR.AI (a community-driven effort to democratize AI research, education, and technologies). I am also an independent NLP research scientist and help lead some of our community projects which can be found here.

In the past few weeks, we have been experimenting with several types of presentations and collaborating with ML/NLP researchers and engineers to deliver remote talks for our community. See our upcoming and past talks on our new Meetup page. Some of those talks are now being hosted on our NLP Newsletter and YouTube page for more visibility and exposure to the work and author.

In an effort to continue with the mission to democratize AI research, education, and technologies, we are officially opening our call for talks. We are now inviting anyone who is interested to deliver a talk (to be delivered remotely) in one of the following key areas:

  • ML or NLP paper presentation
  • An open-source ML or NLP project (e.g., dataset, model implementation, tool, library, etc.)
  • Productionized Machine Learning
  • Research and engineering tips
  • Code walkthroughs (e.g., explaining how to implement a paper or training a language model)
  • General overviews (includes comprehensive overviews on a particular ML or NLP topic)

If you would like to deliver a talk, reach out to me at [email protected] (with email subject: "dair.ai Talk Proposal") and provide the following information:

  • Presenter's name
  • Title of the talk
  • Short description of the talk (1-3 paragraphs)
  • Provide a picture of yourself to use for the talk's promotion materials

The talk should be no longer than 1 hour. Provide time for the audience to ask questions. We will help moderate questions.
