Sinopia environments

Sinopia has two environments for users: Stage and Production. (There is also a separate environment for the development team.)

If you're just starting out with exploring Sinopia, we recommend that you use the Stage environment stage.sinopia.io. The Stage environment has the latest release, and is designed for experimentation. Occasionally the development team will delete data from the Stage environment clean for a fresh start.

So if you're doing cataloging and want to be sure the results are saved, please use the Production environment sinopia.io. Data in the production environment will be retained and available for at least 5 years after the LD4P grant ends (currently it is slated to end June 2023).

The process for creating an account in either environment is the same, but the accounts are different.

Note that you can always export data from any environment, at any time. See Export.
