- Connect MIDAS to the PC via USB (from the back side)
-
Installing drivers - Download the PC driver from this link. (Mac does not require any drivers)
-
Routing in MIDAS Go to ROUTING and select “card out” tab to send all inputs from the MIXER to DAW Here we have selected as this Expansion card outputs 1-8 and Local 1-8 for input microphones (1 to4) Expansion card outputs 9-16 and Local 9-16 for (for a jack input and extra mic) Expansion card outputs 25-32 AND aux 1-6/Mon (Zoom and Lola inputs)
4. Download the Ableton Template with the correct routing. Download MCT-MIDAS-OSLO.als
- Setting up in Ableton Open preferences- set driver type to ASIO and set Audio device to DN32-USB ASIO driver Press input config and select the inputs (These are our settings at Oslo). Before recording make sure to “ARM all tracks” Record in the arrangement view. Remember: in the template there is a LIMITER plugin on the master channel.
- After the recording, render the file (with optional mixing before hand). The input from the mixer is pre fader (the fader level on the Midas mixer does not have any influence on the actual recording level).
