The ESC Green board and ESC Red Board are two Electronic Speed Control modules. Each of the modules controls one brushless motor. They differ in color of the LEDs on bottom side of the board.
ESC is used to convert input PWM data (which fill factor represents requested speed) into 3-phase BLDC motor driving signal.
The board does not care about direction of the motor rotation - that depends only on order of the 3-phase output wires. Switching any two wires will reverse the direction the motor rotates.
There are multiple versions of the board.
