Too Many Medications

This iteration of SCOOP will look at the question of polypharmacy in the elderly. The data will be only core patient demographics, provider ID and, and current medications (not historical prescription history).

Questions Being Answered:

From Polypharmacy Rates in the Elderly Prototypical Question 1, this iteration will answer question:

What are the rates of polypharmacy in BC in the elderly?

The details of this question is described in the question page.

Rationale:

As an early test, there are many reasons that this question is a good first choice. This question is purely observational. It requires no interventions from the practitioners. The data set is limited and the data should be fairly well structured, compared to other data we will encounter. It is also an important question to several of our stakeholders in the divisions of family practice. Finally, current medications and demographics will be foundational to asking other questions in the future.
